Matthias Stuber received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the ETH Zurich, in Switzerland. He worked as a clinical scientist for Philips Medical Systems and as a visiting scientist at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, from 1996-2002. He joined the faculty of Johns Hopkins in 2002, where he was promoted to Full Professor in 2010. He recently moved back to his native Switzerland where he also became Professor and the Director of the Center for Biomedical Imaging at the University Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He is a member of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. In 2010, he was a recipient of the Fellows Award at the annual meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in Stockholm, Sweden.
His current research interests include the development and translational application of novel MRI pulse sequences and methods in the areas of coronary atherosclerosis imaging and molecular imaging. He has published more than 130 peer reviewed original articles, numerous reviews and book-chapters, and he is the author of 8 patents.
